Today, Educational Service District (ESD) 123 hosted a professional development event for regional school leadership teams presented by the dynamic Galen Emanuele of “Shift Yes.” The August 10 event, “Leading Your Leadership,” focused on shifting the mindset of school and administrative teams toward adopting a culture of saying, “Yes, and…” in their daily interactions. The result was a conference room filled with highly-motivated school staff energized to positively impact their districts and communities.

A world-class improviser who has performed with improv legends like Ryan Stiles from Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Galen Emanuele works with teams and organizations across the globe. From Fortune 500 companies such as Shell and Microsoft, to school systems like Pasco School District, Galen’s highly-interactive presentations teach participants to transform the way they interact and communicate both professionally and personally.

Participants at “Leading Your Leadership” came from over a dozen different school districts, private schools, and organizations across southeastern Washington. ESD 123 Superintendent, Mr. Darcy Weisner, was encouraged to bring Galen to present to area school leaders.

“We had an amazing day with Galen Emanuel,” states Superintendent Weisner. “Galen’s ability to engage all of the participants was evident by the energy in the room. I am excited about the positive cultural change we will experience as a result of today. With Galen’s inspiration, I believe we can move into a ‘Yes and’ culture.”
