Flash Alert

Welcome to FlashAlert Newswire through the ESD 123 School Announcement Network

It's 4:30 AM and you and your transportation director have determined that the roads are too icy and dangerous for buses. Do you really want to call or try to fax every television and radio station to announce that your school is closed or delayed? Wouldn't it be easier to notify ALL of the local media and your community with the click of a button? It's time to consider FlashAlert Newswire® through ESD 123.

WHAT IS IT?

Public and private school systems across the ESD 123 region participate in FlashAlert Newswire® to deliver their crucial emergency information (closures and delays), news releases and other announcements to local news media. FlashAlert is used by schools, police, cities and other organizations from Texas to Alaska. In Southeast Washington, our schools participate in the School Announcement Network through a cooperative with ESD 123. Learn more about FlashAlert at www.flashalert.net.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Participants using FlashAlert send their information to the news media via a continuously updated website and e-mails. FlashAlert also automatically places this information into the websites of participating stations and newspapers. The information can be sent directly to the public through the additional FlashMessenger feature.

For step-by-step instructions on accessing Flash Messenger, email [email protected].
