EGMS Training and Resources

Beginning in May 2022, OSPI will begin using the Education Grants Management System (EGMS) for the ESEA Consolidated Grant Application (CGA), the Title I, Part C Consortium, and the Title III Consortium grants beginning with the Spring 2022 grant cycle. All other grants and Form Packages will remain in iGrants for an additional year.
OSPI encourages all LEAs to carefully consider who needs an EGMS user account for the first year. The programs included in the ESEA CGA are Title I, Part A; Title I, Part C; Title I, Part D; Subparts 1 and 2; Title II, Part A; Title III, Part A; Title IV, Part A; and Title V, Part B.The number of users allowed per LEA is based on the LEA’s student enrollment count and ranges from 3 to 10. Currently, this number is being updated in EGMS to accurately reflect LEA enrollment and should have been completed by May 13.The LEA EGMS Admin identifies and invites other LEA users. Only staff who will be assisting with the ESEA Consolidated Grant Application (CGA) and its associated reports and claims will need access to EGMS in school year 2022–23. If your LEA needs more than the number assigned, please contact [email protected]. Admin users in all LEAs have received an email to set up their accounts in the Education Grant Management System (EGMS). If you are the EGMS admin user and have not successfully set up an account,go to the EGMS login page, click on “Forgot Password?” and follow the instructions. For additional support, contact [email protected]. The EGMS training have been recorded and is available on OSPI’s EGMS webpage Education Grant Management System (EGMS) | OSPI (www.k12.wa.us) if you were not able to attend.

Juneteenth

During the 2021 legislative session, SHB 1016 passed that added June 19th as a holiday and revised RCW 1.16.050. This holiday became effective as of July 25, 2021. However, RCW 28A.150.050 was not revised in the 2021 legislative session. This RCW lists the school holidays and prohibits school from being taught on the days listed in the RCW. Even though SHB1617 was passed in 2022 as a cleanup bill and has removed the list of holidays in RCW 28A.150.050, it is not effective until July 1, 2022.If your district has a bargained school calendar that includes Juneteenth as a holiday it is recommended to stay the course and take the day off. If it is not included in your district’s bargained school calendar, the district is not required to observe the holiday in 2022.

Budget Timeline & Hearing

A preliminary budget should be available to the public by July 10th and submitted to the ESD for review.
